President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will sustain ongoing economic reforms, pledging deeper inclusion and empowerment to ensure shared prosperity across the country.
The President gave the assurance on Monday in Yola during a one-day official visit to Adamawa State, where he commissioned key projects executed by the state government and lauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what he described as meaningful and economically impactful interventions.
Tinubu expressed satisfaction that his administration’s reform policies were gradually yielding results, leading to increased allocations to states and enabling subnational governments to execute critical infrastructure and social development projects.
“That is the consequence of us working together, and we will achieve more macroeconomic successes. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves and feed the country,” he said.
He commended the growing collaboration between the federal government and state governments, noting that such synergy had strengthened development outcomes nationwide.
The President praised Fintiri for channeling resources into projects that directly impact livelihoods, particularly in road construction and education.
“You are reflecting the true commitment of a government of the people, by the people and for the people. I have seen tremendous renewal and commitment in your investment in the education of our children,” Tinubu stated.
Among the projects inaugurated were an eight-lane road with an underpass to ease mobility and stimulate commerce, a remodelled High Court complex to strengthen the administration of justice, and a model school aimed at improving access to quality education.
Tinubu urged state governments to intensify efforts to combat poverty, particularly by prioritising education and youth empowerment.
He also appreciated traditional and religious leaders in the state for fostering peace and unity amid economic and political transitions.
The President reserved special commendation for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as honest, courageous and committed.
“National Security Adviser, the son of the soil, Nuhudeen Ribadu. You are doing an excellent job, and we are seeing the results. With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists,” Tinubu said.
Earlier, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for visiting Adamawa to commission the projects, listing key interventions including 21 model schools across the state’s local government areas at a cost of N24.8 billion, the expanded Galadima Aminu Road with overhead bridge and underpass costing N15.6 billion, the remodelled High Court Complex at N5.5 billion, and a newly constructed Government House office complex valued at N6.3 billion.
Fintiri commended the President’s economic reforms and reaffirmed the state’s support for the federal government’s policy direction.
