Uba Sani Hails Nduka Obaigbena On LekeeLekee App Launch

Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, has extended his warmest congratulations to Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman of ARISE & THISDAY Media Group, on the successful launch of the LekeeLekee platform.

In a letter dated 16 February 2026, Governor Sani said, “It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of national pride that I extend my warmest congratulations to you on the successful launch of LekeeLekee, now officially live across the App Store, Google Play, the web, and as a Progressive Web App.

“This bold and visionary initiative, developed by ARISE Broadcast and THISDAY Media Group, represents far more than the debut of a new digital platform. It signals the emergence of an African-owned social media ecosystem: fast, fair, inclusive, and deliberately built for the realities of underserved networks and communities. By offering low-data, high-speed feeds, messaging with voice notes, community groups, and thoughtful moderation, LekeeLekee answers a longstanding need: a platform designed from within our context, not imposed from afar.

“Your unveiling of this revolutionary super app demonstrates once again your abiding commitment to media freedom, democratic vitality, and Africa’s rightful place in the global content architecture. In challenging entrenched global dominance and amplifying authentic African voices, you have taken a decisive step toward reshaping how our stories are created, distributed, and monetised.

“For Nigeria and indeed for Africa, this is a defining moment. Our youthful population; energetic, creative, and digitally fluent, now has a platform that empowers rather than extracts, that elevates rather than erases. The long-term implications for innovation, civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and cultural confidence are profound.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Kaduna State, I assure you of our full support and partnership as LekeeLekee takes flight. May it soar, like the bird whose name it bears, carrying African voices across the world; pure, proud, and powerful.”
