At Crusade In Ahoada, Kumuyi Urges Political Leaders to Prioritise Nigerians’ Welfare

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called on political leaders in Nigeria to prioritise the welfare of citizens and implement policies that positively impact their lives.

Kumuyi made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the palace of HRH Kelvin Anugwo, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality, in Ahoada, Rivers State, ahead of the church’s global crusade in the area.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting with the traditional ruler, Kumuyi said political leaders must remember the mandate given to them by the people and ensure that governance alleviates the suffering and challenges faced by Nigerians.

“My message to the nation is for leaders to think of the people and put the people first, not the politician first,” he said.

“The politicians were elected so they can be a blessing to the people. Let them remember what we elected them for. The people are waiting to see the fullness of their performance to relieve us from the problems and challenges we face.”

He added that members of the clergy across the country are praying for political leaders to succeed in delivering good governance.

Kumuyi explained that his visit to the palace was part of preparations for the church’s global crusade in Ahoada, themed “The All-Sufficient Jesus.”

According to him, the crusade aims to educate and enlighten people about the sufficiency of Jesus Christ in meeting all human needs—spiritual, emotional, social and material.

“A king comes and we share our hearts together because we have the same goal. I want to be a blessing to the people of this kingdom, and he is the resident king and leader,” Kumuyi said.

“Christ is the King of kings. He wants everybody to be fully satisfied and provided for. God is going to do marvellous things in the lives of the people.”

In his remarks, Eze Kelvin Anugwo said the community had experienced relative peace since Kumuyi previously held a global crusade in the kingdom.

The monarch noted that the cleric’s prayers and teachings had contributed to greater unity and calm within the Ekpeye community.

According to him, residents who once struggled with insecurity can now live more peacefully.

“You know, at some time we had challenges where we could not sleep with our eyes closed. But ever since he visited and prayed for Ekpeye people, there has been relative peace,” he said.

He also disclosed that the community would unveil a local security outfit next week as part of efforts to sustain peace and safety in the area.

The monarch added that the initiative is expected to strengthen the community’s security architecture and ensure continued stability.
