Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has visited Maiduguri following the deadly explosions that recently struck the city.

The visit was aimed at sympathising with victims of the attacks and assessing the security situation on the ground in the North-East region.

During his engagement with residents and officials, Shettima reassured the public of the federal government’s commitment to combating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the region.
He also pledged support for those affected by the blasts, including medical assistance for the injured and relief for families who lost loved ones.

The Vice President noted that the visit reflects the government’s determination to intensify ongoing security operations and bring an end to insurgency in the North-East.

Authorities say the engagement underscores renewed efforts by the federal government to strengthen security response and provide humanitarian support in the aftermath of the attacks.
