A fire broke out on Friday evening within the premises of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya’s primary international airport. However, it was located away from the airstrip, did not affect flight operations, and was under control, according to Kenya Airways.
Emergency response teams were actively engaged in combating a grass fire in the northern section of the airport’s grounds, as reported by the Kenya Red Cross on X.

Henry Okatch, a spokesperson for Kenya Airways, stated, “The fire is not near the runway, and there have been no disruptions to flights. Efforts to contain the fire are ongoing.”
