In Togo, the fourth edition of the Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship Week (ETFP) was officially inaugurated on Friday, February 21, 2025, in the city of Kara.
The event, centered around the theme: “Work-study training, a successful model for businesses and the employability of youth,” aims to promote an educational system that is more aligned with the needs of the labor market.
The ceremony took place under the leadership of Isaac Tchiakpe, the Minister of ETFP, alongside several high-ranking officials, including Mazamesso Assih, the Minister of Grassroots Development, as well as local authorities.
“Work-study training serves as a key tool that addresses the disparity between the skills gained through training and the requirements of the job market,” the minister emphasized in his opening address.
A platform for dialogue and initiatives
As a reminder, ETFP Week serves as a platform for discussion and action aimed at highlighting the significance of partnerships between the private sector and educational institutions.
The agenda includes conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and facility tours, all intended to promote technical and professional training while fostering better integration of youth into the workforce.
This year’s ETFP Week will continue until February 28, 2025.
