The Approved Institute of Logistics and Transport is Discussing Establishing a Presence in Togo.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has initiated talks with Togolese officials to establish a presence in the country. Last week, its president, Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey, met with Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé in Lomé to discuss this initiative.

With over a century of experience based in London, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is a professional body that unites stakeholders in the transport and logistics sectors across nearly one hundred nations. Its goal is to advance the field of logistics and transport by supporting industry professionals. In Togo, CILT aims to leverage the country’s strengths to enhance local expertise and foster the development of a robust logistics sector.

“The Prime Minister was very open to our proposal, which seeks to enhance the capabilities of logistics and transport stakeholders while improving connectivity,” stated Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey following the meeting. This initiative aligns with a national strategy that positions logistics as a key driver of economic growth.

The Togolese government is actively pursuing a strategy to transform the nation into a sub-regional hub and has already initiated several significant projects. These include improvements to the road network, modernization of port facilities, and the expansion of Lomé international airport.
