The University of Lomé is hosting an International Conference on Governance and Development in Africa.

The University of Lomé is set to host an international conference focused on governance and development in Africa from March 26 to 28, 2025. This event, which is expected to attract over 500 participants both in-person and virtually, was officially announced by university officials on Tuesday, March 11.

Over the course of three days, scholars, researchers, and experts from 21 African and European nations will engage in discussions centered around the theme “Good Governance in All Its Forms and States,” featuring nearly 400 scientific presentations. The conversations will delve into various dimensions of governance, including academic, political, socioeconomic, and territorial matters, as well as the management of healthcare institutions.

Additionally, a dedicated session will address governance in the context of gender issues. Speakers will aim to identify the challenges confronting the African continent and propose viable solutions to stimulate a renewed development dynamic.

“This conference presents a unique opportunity for collaboration on critical issues that will shape the future of our continent,” stated Agnélé Lassey, chair of the organizing committee.

Following the discussions, the conference proceedings, which will include recommendations, will be compiled and shared with government officials, as noted by the organizers.

This event is being co-organized by the University of Lomé and the CAMES Governance Thematic Research Program.
