Taraba State Governor Honored as Grand Patron of Boys’ Brigade

JALINGO, Nigeria – Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has been formally invested as the Grand Patron of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Taraba State Council, in a ceremony held at the Great Gospel House in Jalingo.

The investiture was marked by celebration and reflections on leadership and youth development. Governor Kefas described the honor as “a call to duty and a reminder of the enduring values of mentorship, discipline, and faith.”

The governor recalled his personal connection to the Boys’ Brigade, noting that he was a member in his youth under the mentorship of his late father, which he credited with shaping his commitment to service and discipline.

According to Emmanuel Bello, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to the governor, Kefas pledged his full support to the organization, emphasizing its role in building confidence, integrity, and civic responsibility in young people.

Professor Samson Duna, National President of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, commended Governor Kefas for exemplifying the organization’s core principles, stating that the award was “a recognition of the governor’s embodiment of peace, discipline, and moral leadership.”
