A delegation from Togo, including officials from the Ministry of Commerce and private sector representatives, has been in Beijing since last week participating in an international seminar organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO).
The delegation aims to learn from China’s experience in cross-border e-commerce to strengthen Togo’s digital ecosystem.
“We must build an inclusive and competitive digital economy,” said Kokou Ananze Oganto, head of the delegation, highlighting the catalytic role of Sino-Togolese relations, which began in 1972 and were strengthened at the 2024 FOCAC summit.
The visit also occurs within a context of closer ties between Lomé (Togo’s capital) and Beijing, with a focus on structuring digital exchanges, including SMEs, and understanding effective marketplace models.
In addition to the seminar, the Togolese delegation will participate in other related activities organized by the Chinese Embassy in Togo in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Handicrafts, and Local Consumption.
