The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reiterated its commitment to fostering international partnerships in the digital space, as the agency’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, welcomed the Ambassador of Japan to Nigeria, SUZUKI Hideo, during a courtesy visit to NITDA headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Japan in the field of digital innovation. Both parties explored areas of mutual interest, including technology advancement, digital skills development, capacity building, and the promotion of innovation-driven growth.
Emphasizing the importance of global collaboration in driving digital transformation, Inuwa noted that partnerships like this are crucial to Nigeria’s goal of building a competitive, knowledge-based economy. He added that international cooperation can help unlock investment, empower the tech workforce, and accelerate inclusive economic development.
“This engagement is an important step toward strengthening ties with Japan and tapping into global expertise to support our digital economy ambitions,” Inuwa said.
