Tinubu’s Commitment to Niger Delta is Clear — NDDC Boss Ogbuku

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has urged the people of the Niger Delta to recognise and appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong commitment to the region’s development. He made this known while reaffirming the commission’s dedication to delivering on the mandate given by the President.

Dr. Ogbuku explained that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda offers a fresh opportunity to address long-standing challenges in the region. He said the agenda serves not just as a policy but as a practical guide for inclusive progress. The NDDC, he added, is fully aligned with the goals of this national roadmap.

He stated that the current Board and Management of the NDDC are determined to deliver visible results across the nine states of the region. The commission, under his leadership, is focused on changing the narrative that has defined the Niger Delta for years. According to him, the era of promises without action is over, and the commission now operates with purpose and urgency.

Dr. Ogbuku noted that the NDDC’s projects now reflect local needs and national priorities. From rural roads to clean water, from health centres to job creation, the focus has shifted to impact. He said the people deserve more than hope—they deserve results. That belief, he explained, now drives the agency’s day-to-day work.

He pointed out that the region has suffered neglect for too long, despite being the economic heartbeat of the nation. President Tinubu, he said, understands this reality and has shown clear intent to reverse it. The President’s support for the commission is not just symbolic—it is strategic and results-oriented.

As part of the commission’s current efforts, Dr. Ogbuku mentioned the rollout of community-driven development programmes. These initiatives are designed to empower young people, improve public services, and restore dignity in local communities. According to him, the aim is to build more resilient and prosperous towns and villages.

He said the NDDC is also strengthening its coordination with other federal ministries and development partners. This synergy, he added, ensures that resources are better managed and outcomes are more sustainable. The commission is no longer working in isolation, but in step with broader national development goals.

Dr. Ogbuku highlighted that transparency and accountability remain central to the commission’s operations. He said every project is now subject to strict monitoring to guarantee value for money. He believes that trust can only grow when people see results and feel the difference in their daily lives.

He encouraged communities to stay involved and work with the commission to identify priority needs. Local voices, he said, are essential to shaping responsive development. He called for patience and unity, noting that while progress may take time, it is already underway.

In closing, Dr. Ogbuku reaffirmed the commission’s loyalty to President Tinubu’s vision. He said the Niger Delta is entering a new chapter—one marked by growth, dignity, and shared prosperity. The NDDC, he declared, will not relent until the region receives the development it deserves.
