Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has restated his strong admiration for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, calling him the most state-friendly president Nigeria has ever had. During a recent appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme, the governor stood firmly by his previous remarks and offered fresh insight into why he believes Tinubu’s impact on state governments is truly historic.
According to Governor Sani, no Nigerian president has offered such deep financial and policy support to sub-national governments. He described Tinubu’s approach as both bold and unprecedented, emphasizing that states now enjoy a new level of autonomy and respect under the current administration.
“This is not politics,” Sani said confidently. “What President Tinubu is doing for state governments has never happened before in Nigeria.”
The governor pointed to several policies and funding initiatives that have helped boost the capacity of state governments to act quickly and effectively. He noted that through targeted support, Tinubu has empowered governors to respond to local needs without unnecessary federal interference.
Sani added that the difference has been clear across boardrooms and communities alike. He explained that Kaduna, like many other states, has seen greater freedom in managing projects and addressing development challenges.
“We now have the space to take bold action at the state level,” he said. “That kind of freedom only comes when the federal government believes in true partnership.”
The governor praised Tinubu for recognizing that national growth begins at the grassroots. He credited the President for shifting the focus from over-centralization to collaboration and action. In his view, this shift has opened the door for more innovation and faster service delivery in states.
Sani also pushed back at critics who suggested that his praise for Tinubu was politically motivated. He insisted that his statements were based purely on outcomes, not loyalty.
“I would say the same if any other president had done what Tinubu is doing,” he said. “This is about results, not rhetoric.”
He highlighted examples like timely budget support, infrastructure funding, and economic reforms that allow states to plan better. These policies, he argued, have made governance more effective and responsive at the state level.
Several analysts have echoed Sani’s views in recent weeks. Many agree that Tinubu’s administration has brought a new tone to federal-state relations. Some governors, including those outside Tinubu’s political party, have acknowledged improvements in how federal resources are shared and managed.
Sani concluded by urging Nigerians to recognize the importance of unity between the federal and state governments.
“This kind of cooperation is what we need to move forward,” he said. “President Tinubu has given us a chance to lead better, and we must use it well.”
For Governor Sani, the message is simple: when the federal government trusts its states, progress follows. And right now, he believes Nigeria is finally on that path.
