Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has assured residents of Ifelodun, Patigi, and Edu local government areas of his administration’s commitment to eliminating criminal threats in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and other security agencies.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin, the governor said the safety of lives and property remained his top priority.
“I assure you of our efforts to eliminate the threats. As we work together to make our communities safer, I want to advise that investments may be affected if we don’t strike a balance in how we project our communities to the outside world,” AbdulRazaq said.
The governor emphasised that constant coordination with the NSA’s office and other security agencies had been key to tackling insecurity across the state.
Meanwhile, security forces and local vigilantes have reportedly killed dozens of suspected bandits in renewed operations around Baba Sango and Oro River near Babanla in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
Multiple sources said the operation, which began Sunday night and lasted into Monday morning, targeted hideouts of armed groups that had terrorised communities in recent weeks.
