Abia APC Endorses Tinubu as Sole 2027 Presidential Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The declaration followed what the party described as a Stakeholders’ Pre-Congress held on Sunday, where leaders and members unanimously affirmed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid. Party officials said the endorsement reflects confidence in the President’s leadership and reform agenda.

Consensus Decision at Stakeholders’ Pre-Congress

According to organisers, the pre-congress gathering brought together state executives, local government leaders, and key party stakeholders. Deliberations focused on party unity, electoral strategy, and alignment with national leadership ahead of the 2027 political cycle.

Participants subsequently adopted a consensus position endorsing Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential flagbearer. Leaders noted that early alignment strengthens mobilisation and organisational cohesion.

They also emphasised that unified messaging positions the party for effective engagement with voters and stakeholders.

Confidence in Reform Agenda

Speakers at the event highlighted ongoing economic and governance reforms under Tinubu’s administration. They argued that continuity would allow policies to mature and deliver long-term national benefits.

Party figures stated that the President’s programmes on infrastructure, fiscal restructuring, and social investment have laid foundations for sustained growth. Therefore, they said, re-election support aligns with national development priorities.

The endorsement, they added, signals grassroots approval of federal initiatives within the state.

Strengthening Party Structure in Abia

Beyond the presidential endorsement, stakeholders discussed strategies to consolidate APC structures across Abia State. Discussions addressed membership expansion, grassroots engagement, and coordination ahead of party congresses.

Leaders stressed that cohesive organisation at ward and local levels remains essential for electoral competitiveness. Consequently, they called for intensified outreach and reconciliation among party factions.

Officials expressed optimism that strengthened structures would enhance APC’s political influence in the state.

Positioning for the 2027 Electoral Cycle

Party representatives explained that early endorsement does not replace formal nomination processes but expresses political intent and support. They said such declarations often shape campaign preparation and strategic planning.

By adopting a sole-candidate position, Abia APC aims to project unity and clarity regarding presidential preference. Leaders believe this approach will guide mobilisation and alliance-building ahead of primaries and the general election.

Ultimately, the stakeholders’ declaration underscores the party’s commitment in Abia to President Tinubu’s leadership and signals alignment with the APC’s national direction toward the 2027 elections.
