Army Commends Ondo Government’s Rapid Action on Terror Alert, Pledges Deeper Collaboration

The Nigerian Army has applauded Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his swift and decisive response to a recent security alert over a suspected terrorist plot targeting parts of the state.

Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major Njoka Irabor, gave the commendation on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, in Akure.

Major Irabor said the governor’s prompt action—convening an emergency security meeting and placing all security agencies on high alert—underscored his commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the Sunshine State.

He noted that the Nigerian Army and other security agencies have benefited immensely from the government’s continued logistical and operational support. “The recent provision of utility vehicles and modern equipment by Governor Aiyedatiwa has boosted the morale and efficiency of our personnel,” he added.

According to him, the existing synergy between the military and the state government has been instrumental in maintaining the relative peace and stability enjoyed in Ondo. He pledged that the Nigerian Army would continue to collaborate with other agencies to ensure the state remains safe for residents and investors alike.

Responding, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, expressed appreciation for the visit and the army’s relentless commitment to securing the state.

Ajanaku reaffirmed that the Ministry of Information would intensify its support through effective public enlightenment and timely information dissemination. “Security thrives on communication and vigilance. Our people must remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the authorities,” he stated.

He stressed that intelligence sharing between the public and security agencies is crucial in preventing criminal acts and sustaining peace.

The commissioner reiterated the Aiyedatiwa administration’s unwavering dedication to a secure and prosperous Ondo State, noting that collaboration, vigilance, and trust remain vital tools in combating emerging security challenges.
