The Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management has boosted Nigeria’s aviation training capacity. The institution achieved this through a new Memorandum of Understanding with Auxano Consulting Nigeria Limited, known as Auxano Aviation. The agreement covers the purchase of 30 Jabiru J430 training aircraft.
The deal marks a major step for local pilot development. It will expand the university’s training fleet and improve hands-on learning for aviation students. It also supports Nigeria’s long-term plan to build a stronger pool of skilled aeronautical professionals.
The signing ceremony took place on Thursday. It happened during the Nigeria International Airshow at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. University officials and representatives of Auxano Aviation attended the event.
IBUAM believes the new aircraft will enhance safety, efficiency, and training standards. The Jabiru J430 model offers reliable performance, easy handling, and low operating costs. These features make it suitable for both beginner and advanced training.
Auxano Aviation sees the partnership as a pathway to stronger local capacity. The firm stressed the need for continuous investment in modern equipment. It also emphasized that Nigeria can become a regional leader in aviation training with consistent support.
The collaboration reflects rising interest in Nigeria’s aviation industry. It also highlights the country’s efforts to reduce reliance on foreign training facilities. With improved local capacity, more students can access quality training at home.
IBUAM plans to integrate the new aircraft into its curriculum as soon as possible. The university also intends to expand its programs to accommodate more trainees. Officials confirmed that additional partnerships are under review.
The agreement signals fresh momentum for Nigeria’s aviation sector. It points to a future where more pilots receive world-class training within the country. It also strengthens the broader vision of developing a competitive, technology-driven workforce.
