BOI Opens Kogi Office, Targets MSME Growth

LOKOJA – The Bank of Industry (BOI) has launched a new office in Lokoja, Kogi State, marking a significant step towards boosting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to transform the state’s economy and create new opportunities for local businesses.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Governor Ododo pledged his administration’s full support for the BOI, emphasizing its role in providing access to finance for both new and existing businesses. He noted that the BOI’s programs align with the state’s 32-year development plan and offer “local solutions to local challenges.”

BOI Managing Director Dr. Olasupo Olusi stated that the new office will enable MSMEs, cooperatives, women-and-youth-led businesses, and industrial ventures in Kogi State to access affordable financing and contribute to inclusive economic development. The BOI offers various funding initiatives, including the ₦200 billion MSME Intervention Fund, to support businesses that create jobs, stimulate innovation, and add value to the economy. The Executive Director of MSME, Mrs Ugochukwu Okabogu, urged the business community in the state to take advantage of the BOI and become entrepreneurs.
