By using a virtual museum devoted to stolen artifacts, Togo hopes to fortify its cultural heritage preservation strategy. On February 11 and 12, 2025, a training workshop in Lomé focused on the initiative, teaching public museum technicians inventory techniques and how to use the ID Art application, a reference tool in the fight against illegal cultural property trafficking.
The ultimate goal is to create a participatory inventory that conforms with international Object ID standards in order to identify, digitize, and document artifacts from Togo’s five public museums, including fifty masterpieces.
