D-CLIC Initiative for Youth Digital Skills Training.

The “D-CLIC, Digital Training with the OIF” initiative officially commenced on February 4, 2025, in Lomé, Togo. This program is designed to equip over 300 young individuals with essential digital skills, including web and mobile development, digital communication, and digital marketing.

The launch event took place at the University of Lomé and was attended by government officials, entrepreneurs, representatives from the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), and the participants themselves.

Backed by the OIF and managed by the local incubator, Centre Urbain de Business et d’Entrepreneuriat (CUBE), the program aims to enhance employability and foster entrepreneurship. Participants will benefit from comprehensive training and tailored mentoring to support their career aspirations.

One participant, Laeticia, shared her motivation: “I chose to enroll in this program to pursue freelancing and develop my own website, as I am also a stylist and accessory designer.”

Thi Hoang Mai Tran, the OIF Representative for West Africa, highlighted that the project is focused on empowering women and youth with digital skills to improve their job prospects. A previous phase of this initiative successfully trained 2,500 young people across 14 countries from 2021 to 2023.

The training sessions are scheduled to take place from January to July 2025 in various locations, including Lomé (at UniPod and CUBE), Aného, Kara, and Dapaong. Local institutions such as Commune des Lacs1 and Institut Supérieur Monseigneur Bakpéssi are also participating in this effort.
