In Togo, the Dagba accelerator, which focuses on assisting startups and emerging businesses, launched two new initiatives last weekend specifically for women entrepreneurs and students. These programs, named “Accel’Heraction” and “Student Tech Pulse,” are designed to enhance the Togolese entrepreneurial landscape by targeting two important groups: women entrepreneurs and students.
Specifically, Accél’Héraction targets women entrepreneurs who are operating innovative firms. This program aims to organize companies, enhance governance, and refine the business model. It provides tailored assistance, particularly regarding fundraising, networking, and growth strategies. For this inaugural edition, ten entrepreneurs will be chosen to receive intensive guidance to boost the competitiveness of their businesses.
On the other hand, Student Tech Pulse seeks to foster the entrepreneurial mindset within universities. Aimed at students, this program offers practical workshops, mentorship, and pitch competitions, facilitating the transformation of their ideas into viable projects. In addition to connecting with investors and industry professionals, ten young project leaders will be selected this year to receive this support.
“Through these two initiatives, we intend to provide women entrepreneurs and students with strategic guidance to organize their projects, enhance their skills, and access funding, enabling them to play a crucial role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem,” stated Brice Tchendo, Manager of Dagba.

Initiated in February 2023, the primary goal of the Dagba accelerator is to assist young companies in effectively organizing themselves to attract funding and expedite their growth. The name “Dagba” carries a specific significance: in Yoruba, it signifies “to grow,” while in Ewe, it reflects the concept of “failing.” This duality represents the entrepreneurial journey, characterized by challenges and opportunities for development.
The entrepreneurial ecosystem in Togo is thriving, fueled by a spirit of innovation and an expanding network of incubators and accelerators. Besides Dagba, several organizations, including Nunya Lab and CUBE, aid project leaders through training, mentorship, and access to funding.
