The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ruth Otabo, who was recently injured in a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the management of the company extended condolences to Ruth’s family, friends, and loved ones, describing the loss as a moment of profound grief.
“On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time,” the company said.
The group disclosed that since the accident, its officials and insurance partners had been by Ruth’s side, covering her medical and financial expenses and supporting her family. Plans had also been finalized to fly her to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance.
“Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” the statement added.
Dangote Group emphasized that safety, accountability, and compassion remain central to its operations and assured the public that it would continue strengthening its safety systems to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“We remain committed to supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest,” the management concluded.
