The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) has demonstrated its commitment to fostering innovation and driving inclusive growth within Nigeria’s micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector by awarding a total of N13 million in grants to three exceptional tech startups at the 2025 Techpreneur Summit held in Lagos. This significant investment underscores DBN’s belief in the transformative power of technology and its potential to unlock new opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs.
The grant recipients, selected for their innovative solutions and potential for impact, include BuyScrap, a digital marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of recyclable materials, receiving N6 million to expand its operations and promote sustainable waste management practices; Qiqi Farms, a platform connecting local farmers directly to hospitality and export markets, awarded N4 million to enhance its reach and empower agricultural communities; and Eco-Cyclers, a youth-led recycling initiative based in Enugu, receiving N3 million to scale its operations and promote environmental sustainability through community-based recycling programs.
By providing financial support to these promising tech startups, the DBN aims to catalyze innovation, create jobs, and contribute to the overall growth and diversification of the Nigerian economy. The DBN’s investment in these ventures highlights the critical role of MSMEs in driving economic development and the importance of providing them with the resources they need to thrive.
