The awards ceremony, co-organized by African Banker magazine and IC Events, will take place on May 28 in Abidjan, coinciding with the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB). The event is a key gathering for the African financial sector, with over 200 applications received across nine categories this year.

The 2025 African Banker Awards will emphasize banking initiatives in areas such as green finance, financial inclusion, digitalization, and gender equality, all of which are areas of focus for Ecobank.

Ecobank is a frequent recipient of such accolades, both as a group and through its subsidiaries. In Togo, for example, Ecobank’s national subsidiary was named “Bank of the Year” for the fifth consecutive year at The Banker 2024 Awards ceremony, a separate recognition presented by the British magazine The Banker.
