Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on Wednesday arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna for the hearing of his bail application in an ongoing corruption trial.
The court, located within the Kaduna judicial complex, witnessed a heavy security presence as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies were deployed to maintain order and restrict access to parts of the premises amid heightened public attention to the case.
El-Rufai, who is in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, is facing multiple charges, including allegations of money laundering, possession of public property, and other related offences.
Security restrictions around the court grounds were tightened as proceedings got underway, reflecting the sensitivity of the ongoing legal process.
Further details of the bail hearing are expected as the case continues.
