Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has applauded the Board and Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for their impactful efforts in fostering lasting peace and accelerating development across the Niger Delta region.
Speaking on Sunday, the governor praised the Commission for taking a more strategic and inclusive approach to development, which, he said, has not only enhanced stability but also begun to close longstanding infrastructure and service delivery gaps in the region.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that the NDDC’s renewed focus on partnerships and stakeholder engagement has played a crucial role in driving sustainable growth in the oil-rich region.
“The NDDC has demonstrated commendable leadership in promoting peace and stability in the Niger Delta. Their emphasis on collaboration and coordinated development is already yielding visible and positive results,” the governor said.
He highlighted the Commission’s deliberate efforts to work closely with state governments, local communities, and development partners as a major step forward in ensuring that projects are people-oriented, sustainable, and aligned with regional needs.
“This renewed commitment to partnership has transformed the way development is taking shape in our communities. There is now a clearer sense of purpose and unity, which is critical for lasting progress in the region,” he added.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also acknowledged the strides being made under the Commission’s current leadership, pointing to several infrastructure projects and social initiatives that are directly improving lives across the Niger Delta states.
He urged the NDDC to maintain its momentum and deepen its engagement with key stakeholders to ensure long-term peace and inclusive development throughout the region.
The governor’s commendation echoes growing confidence in the NDDC’s efforts to reposition itself as a catalyst for transformation and a trusted partner in the Niger Delta’s growth story.
As the Commission continues to expand its impact, its renewed strategy—anchored on transparency, collaboration, and community empowerment—is setting a new standard for development in the region.
