Honourable Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka has taken a bold step toward expanding healthcare access in Kaduna North. Through a groundbreaking partnership with the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), he has officially launched the “Seyi Cares” Health Insurance Initiative.
This people-focused initiative, announced during a well-attended event in Kaduna, aims to enroll hundreds of vulnerable residents. Beneficiaries will gain access to the state’s health insurance scheme without paying any enrollment fees.
Driven by compassion and a strong sense of responsibility, Hon. Kaka developed this initiative to meet a pressing need. Many residents, especially in underserved communities, still face financial barriers to accessing basic healthcare. With “Seyi Cares,” those barriers will be removed for the most at-risk citizens.
“This initiative reflects my deep commitment to the well-being of my constituents,” Kaka said at the launch. “Healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and no one should suffer because they cannot afford care.”
KADCHMA is the official implementation partner. The agency brings technical expertise and operational support to ensure seamless enrollment and service delivery. Officials from the agency pledged to work closely with Hon. Kaka to make the program a model for inclusive healthcare in Nigeria.
According to Kaka, the program was designed with sustainability in mind. It supports both immediate needs and long-term access. The goal is to build healthier communities while reducing the burden on public health facilities.
He explained that the “Seyi Cares” initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. That agenda places strong emphasis on healthcare access, equity, and systemic reform. Hon. Kaka believes such local interventions are essential for turning national goals into grassroots realities.
“This is how we renew hope,” he said. “By investing in people and protecting their health.”
The name “Seyi Cares” reflects both personal commitment and community spirit. Inspired by values of compassion and action, it reminds everyone that real leadership means listening and responding to everyday challenges.
Community leaders, religious figures, and healthcare professionals attended the launch and welcomed the initiative. They praised Hon. Kaka for putting his constituents first and bridging critical service gaps. Some said they hoped other lawmakers would replicate the model in their own districts.
One local resident, Aisha Musa, shared her excitement. “Now my children can see a doctor without worrying about costs,” she said. “This is a blessing.”
The launch event also featured a symbolic enrollment ceremony. Several residents received their KADCHMA health cards and expressed appreciation for the initiative. KADCHMA officials explained how the scheme works and what benefits enrollees can expect.
Hon. Kaka urged residents to embrace the opportunity and spread the word to eligible families. He also emphasized the need for collaboration among citizens, government agencies, and community leaders to sustain the effort.
With the launch of “Seyi Cares,” Hon. Abdulazeez Kaka has demonstrated what responsive, people-centered governance looks like. He has taken concrete steps to address health inequality and champion the values of dignity, access, and inclusion for every resident of Kaduna North.
