ICAT has Secured Over 1 Billion FCFA for Agricultural Financing in 2024.

In 2024, the Institute for Consulting and Technical Support (ICAT) enabled financing for 12,310 farmers, including 4,770 women, by injecting over 1 billion CFA francs into the agricultural sector. ICAT’s primary objective is to organize producers and enhance their integration into agricultural value chains. As a result of its efforts, 1,408 cooperatives have been established, uniting nearly 30,000 producers and linking them with aggregators, which has generated a total turnover of 4.2 billion CFA francs, as reported by the media outlet Union pour la Patrie.

Beyond financial support, ICAT has assisted nearly 20,000 producers (19,574) with agricultural mechanization, enabling the cultivation of more than 37,000 hectares. Additionally, 693 field schools and 170 demonstration units have been set up to encourage the adoption of modern agricultural techniques.

As part of its modernization strategy, 229 Planned Agricultural Development Zones (ZAAP) were monitored in 2024, encompassing 26,502 hectares and involving 27,019 producers, including 11,055 women.

In Togo, the government aims to enhance this performance by 2025, focusing on diversifying financing, increasing mechanization, and adopting innovative agricultural technologies.
