In 2024, the OTR Exceeded 1000 Billion FCFA in Revenue.

The Togolese Revenue Office (OTR) concluded the year 2024 with a taxpayer collection totaling 1,098 billion CFA francs, achieving slightly more than 98% of the targets outlined in the revised finance law, which aimed for 1,113 billion CFA francs. This announcement was made recently during a performance evaluation meeting for the service.

For the first time, the OTR surpassed the 1,000 billion CFA francs mark, representing an increase from 2023, when tax revenues reached 990.1 billion CFA francs, exceeding the anticipated 912.1 billion CFA francs. The tax collection for 2024 is projected to rise by 10% compared to the previous year.

According to the OTR, these results demonstrate the resilience of the Togolese tax administration, which acknowledges the efforts made to address the challenges faced. “The OTR is performing well and is committed to overcoming various challenges, as evidenced by these positive outcomes,” the institution stated.

The current objective is to sustain this progress and ensure that tax mobilization surpasses 1,000 billion CFA francs to facilitate the financing of the national budget. For 2025, projections indicate a collection target of 1,210 billion CFA francs, reflecting an 8% increase over the 2024 goals.
