Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammad Zuru Dies In Egypt

Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly,

Muhammad Zuru, has died in Cairo after medical treatment, leaving a significant political void.

His death was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by Murtala Diri on behalf of the Assembly. 

Zuru reportedly passed away on Monday evening in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

Popularly known as Lifiddan Zuru, the late lawmaker represented Zuru constituency and was a prominent figure within the Zuru Emirate.

Describing his passing as a major loss, Diri said: “His death is a significant loss to his constituents, the state’s legislative body, the political community, as well as the state and the country in general.”

He added that details of the burial arrangements would be announced by Zuru’s family and the Kebbi State Government in due course.
