MIATO 2025 Will Focus on Safeguarding Handicrafts

The Fourth International Crafts Market of Togo (MIATO) will take place from April 23 to May 4 in Lomé. The theme for this year’s fair is “Protecting handicrafts: issues and challenges.”

The event aims to increase artisans’ understanding of how to safeguard their creations and explore methods to achieve this objective. Burkina Faso will serve as this year’s guest of honor.

In addition to dialogues, the fair will include exhibitions and cultural performances on the esplanade of the Palais des Congrès in Lomé.

The Togolese government regards the MIATO as a platform that allows artisans to showcase their works, establish partnerships, and enhance the local economy. In 2023, the event attracted more than 800 exhibitors from Togo and various countries, including Belgium, Tunisia, Cameroon, Gabon, Chad, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Mali, which held the guest of honor status.
