Mila Aziablé, the Minister of Water and Sanitation for Togo, visited the Plateaux region on February 3. During her visit, she evaluated two important water and sanitation facilities: the Ohoundjè landfill site located in Ogou 1 and the Iwolobo water treatment center situated in Amou.
This visit highlighted the persistent challenges related to waste management in the area. Minister Aziablé commended the waste management practices at the Ohoundjè landfill but noted that the lack of sorting facilities at the site poses a significant challenge. The Iwolobo water treatment center, which has been operational since June 2024, has the capacity to treat 3,000 m³ of water daily to serve Atakpamé and its neighboring regions. However, some technical issues were observed.
