The visit highlighted the persistent difficulties in waste management faced by the region. Minister Aziablé praised the waste management practices implemented at the Ohoundjè landfill but indicated that the lack of sorting facilities at this site represented a major obstacle. The Iwolobo water treatment center, which has been operational since June 2024, is capable of treating 3,000 m³ of water each day to serve Atakpamé and the neighboring regions. However, some technical issues were observed.
Aziablé emphasized the need for urgent attention to the problems at the Iwolobo treatment center. She also mentioned that she would soon have discussions with the leaders of the relevant communes to identify and put into action solutions to address these challenges.
