In Togo, the electoral list revision for the upcoming 2025 municipal elections is scheduled to occur from April 7 to April 23 nationwide. This was announced by the authorities on Tuesday, April 1, through a presidential decree outlining the operational details.
During this timeframe, citizens who have not yet registered will have the opportunity to do so, including young individuals who have recently turned 18. The process also applies to voters who have changed their residence or lost their voter registration card, allowing them to update their information at designated centers.
According to current regulations, the existing electoral boundaries will guide this revision. The designated centers will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., enabling voters to complete the necessary procedures.
Before this operation, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) conducted training for those involved in updating the electoral register. Approximately 324 trainers were educated in Lomé, who then shared their expertise with nearly 6,000 data entry operators tasked with implementation in the field.
This revision follows just over a year after the last electoral census, which was conducted in conjunction with the legislative and regional elections in April 2024. By the conclusion of that operation, the CENI had registered over 4.2 million Togolese voters.
