NDDC Strengthens Commitment to Regional Development in Nigeria

As Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), I had the honour of joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the State House. The meeting brought together the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar E. Momoh, and the Minister of State, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, in a significant engagement that reaffirmed this administration’s dedication to balanced growth and inclusive progress across the nation.

During the engagement, President Tinubu warmly commended the NDDC for its renewed momentum, transparency, and measurable achievements in driving regional development in Nigeria. His recognition of our work is deeply encouraging. It reflects the visible impact of our efforts in transforming the Niger Delta — from road and bridge projects to youth empowerment initiatives and enterprise development programs. Each success reinforces our belief that sustainable development flourishes through collaboration, accountability, and purpose-driven action.

Furthermore, the gathering offered an opportunity for meaningful dialogue among chairmen and chief executives of the seven regional development commissions. Together, we explored practical strategies to deepen cooperation, strengthen institutional frameworks, and ensure every region contributes effectively to national prosperity. This shared conversation underscored a central truth: Nigeria’s progress depends on unity, coordination, and commitment at all levels.

For us at NDDC, the President’s words serve as a renewed call to excellence. They inspire us to intensify our focus on project completion, operational efficiency, and inclusive partnerships. We understand that progress must go beyond physical infrastructure. Therefore, we continue to invest in human capital, social inclusion, and innovation — ensuring that our projects empower communities and build lasting value.

In line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we are translating vision into action. The Federal Government’s commitment to equitable regional growth has created an enabling environment for collaboration. This alignment between national leadership and regional action is paving the way for a new era of balanced and sustainable development across Nigeria.

Moreover, the NDDC’s reforms are producing measurable outcomes. We have introduced digital monitoring systems to track projects, strengthened procurement transparency, and improved stakeholder communication. These steps ensure that resources are used effectively and results are visible. Through these reforms, NDDC is demonstrating that integrity and innovation are essential ingredients for regional transformation.

Beyond building roads or bridges, we are building people. Our investments in education, skills development, and entrepreneurship are helping young Nigerians turn potential into performance. By empowering youth and women, we are laying the foundation for a self-sustaining economy within the Niger Delta and beyond. This people-centered approach ensures that growth endures long after projects are completed.

Additionally, the cooperation among Nigeria’s regional development commissions reflects a new spirit of national integration. By working together, we can leverage collective expertise, share resources, and replicate successful models across regions. This approach not only accelerates progress but also fosters a stronger sense of unity and purpose.

As the NDDC advances its mission, we remain fully committed to accountability, inclusivity, and measurable impact. Every completed project strengthens public confidence. Every empowered youth builds resilience. And every partnership nurtures the dream of a prosperous and united Nigeria.

Ultimately, regional development in Nigeria thrives when leadership aligns with vision, and vision translates into action. Under President Tinubu’s guidance, and through the collective resolve of all regional commissions, we are turning renewed hope into real progress. The Niger Delta stands ready — not just to benefit from development but to lead it.
