Nigerian Chief of Naval Staff Visits Denmark to Strengthen Naval Cooperation

Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Nigerian Navy, has commenced a significant three-day working visit to Denmark, signaling a commitment to strengthening ties and enhancing cooperation between the Nigerian and Danish navies. The visit, initiated at the invitation of the Danish Navy, underscores the growing importance of maritime security collaboration in the face of evolving global challenges.

The first day of the visit saw Vice Admiral Ogalla engaging in a series of high-level meetings and activities, including a symbolic boat trip alongside Rear Admiral Seren Kjeldsen, the Admiral of the Danish Navy. This provided an opportunity for informal discussions and a firsthand look at Danish naval capabilities. Accompanying the CNS was a delegation of key Nigerian officials, including Dr. Elias-Fatile, fdc, the acting Nigerian Ambassador to Sweden, who also oversees relations with the Nordic countries, Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu, the Navy Secretary, and Brigadier General Manu, Nigeria’s Defence Adviser to London. Their presence highlights the multifaceted nature of the visit and its importance to Nigeria’s broader strategic interests.
