During the meeting, the delegation was warmly received by Dr. Dimie Warowei, the Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy at NITDA. The team shared their experiences from the program, which empowered 1,050 pupils from 45 schools. These students gained practical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The program utilized both modern and locally available materials to ensure accessibility and relevance.

The success of this initiative is a testament to the collaborative efforts between educational institutions and technology regulators. By providing hands-on learning experiences, the program engaged pupils and ignited their interest in STEAM fields. This engagement is crucial for fostering the next generation of innovators and problem solvers in Nigeria.

Following the discussion, the delegation toured the NITDA Computer Emergency Readiness and Response Team (CERRT) room. This visit offered valuable insights into Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to safeguard its digital ecosystem. Understanding cybersecurity measures is essential for protecting digital infrastructure and promoting safe online practices.

The collaboration with the University of Rome and TPI reflects NITDA’s proactive approach to enhancing digital literacy. Such partnerships are instrumental in driving meaningful change within the education sector. They pave the way for innovative programs that equip young people with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age.

As NITDA continues to champion digital literacy, it encourages further engagement with international partners. Expanding these relationships can lead to more comprehensive educational initiatives. By sharing knowledge and resources, NITDA can enhance the effectiveness of its programs and reach even more students.

In conclusion, the meeting between NITDA and the delegation from the University of Rome marks a significant step toward advancing digital literacy in Nigeria. The successful STEAM Digital Literacy Programme demonstrates the impact of collaborative efforts in education.
