NITDA Partners with Dubai-Based AI Recruitment Platform to Boost Nigerian Tech Job Placements

Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Afrovision Technologies Limited (Doballi), a Dubai-based, AI-powered recruitment platform. The collaboration aims to address underemployment among skilled Nigerian tech professionals by facilitating access to international job opportunities.

Despite a growing global demand for digital expertise, many Nigerian tech professionals face challenges in securing international employment. The partnership between NITDA and Doballi seeks to bridge this gap by streamlining the process for Nigerian professionals to access remote job openings in the global market.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines the specific responsibilities of each entity. NITDA will be responsible for providing a consistent pipeline of trained and employable Nigerian tech talents. Doballi will leverage its AI-driven platform to connect these professionals with international enterprises seeking African talent. The effectiveness of NITDA in ensuring the quality and relevance of the training provided remains to be seen.

Doballi will waive its standard $150 onboarding assessment fee for Nigerian applicants referred through NITDA. The platform will also provide resources, including information on certification requirements and key demands within the international tech industry. The actual value and impact of these resources on the success of Nigerian applicants require further evaluation.

The partnership includes provisions for cross-cultural training to prepare Nigerian professionals for global work environments. Doballi will create a specialized dashboard for NITDA, enabling the agency to track the progress of Nigerian talent, monitor employer feedback, and oversee foreign currency transactions. The extent to which this dashboard will provide meaningful insights and contribute to improved outcomes for Nigerian professionals is unclear.

NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, described the agreement as a step towards fostering digital job creation for Nigerians. He stated that the collaboration will provide data and insights for policy decision-makers, contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy. The actual impact of this partnership on job creation and economic growth will need to be carefully monitored and assessed.
