The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasidi Ladoja on Thursday assured of his commitment to be fair to all religions in the ancient city.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State gave the assurance when delegates from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), paid him a courtesy visit.
The monarch while addressing his guests at the Olubadan palace in Oke Aremo in Ibadan, said there cannot be religious crisis in the ancient city, noting that all families in Ibadan have adherents in all the three major religions.
He appreciated the delegation for their visit and enjoined them not to relent in their prayers for Ibadanland, Oyo State and the country in general.
According to him, “There cannot be a religious crisis in Ibadanland as there is no family compound without the adherents of the various religions, particularly Christianity, Islam and African Traditional Religion.
“Any traditional ruler including Olubadan of Ibadanland is the father of all religions and such a traditional ruler should preach harmony and religious tolerance among all religious faithfuls.”
The General Overseer of (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, congratulated Oba Ladoja for being enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Adeboye spoke through Pastor Sola Adeyeye, a member of Board of Trustee, RCCG and National Coordinator of Royal Fathers’ Fellowship.
He pledged that the church will offer spiritual support for peace, harmony and success throughout the reign of the traditional ruler.
