Onyejeocha Steps Down As Minister Of State For Labour, Says Exit Is New Beginning

Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Friday announced her resignation as Minister of State for Labour and Employment, expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration.

In a statement shared on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Onyejeocha said her decision was taken, “with a heart full of gratitude,” describing her time in office as a period of service to the nation. She thanked the president for the confidence reposed in her, noting that the experience had been both an honour and a privilege.

While she did not disclose the reasons for her resignation, the former minister emphasised that her exit from office does not mark the end of her public service.

“This is not an end but a new beginning. I remain committed to service, to progress, and to building the Nigeria we all deserve,” she stated.

Onyejeocha, a former lawmaker who represented Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia State, assured Nigerians of her continued dedication to national development.
