On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, two new industrial facilities were officially opened at the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA) in Togo. The facilities, FHC Médica, focused on pharmaceutical production, and NutriSource, which specializes in fertilizer manufacturing, were inaugurated during the celebrations marking the 65th anniversary of Togo’s independence. This development aligns with the government’s strategy to enhance industrial activities on the platform.

The ceremony, led by Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening local value chains in key sectors. Minister of Investment Manuella Santos stated, ‘These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to providing tangible solutions to our economic challenges, including health access, food security, and job creation.’ FHC Médica spans 7,000 m² and currently employs approximately 100 young Togolese individuals.
With an annual output capacity of 750 million tablets, 150 million capsules, and 30 million syrups, the facility aims to supply affordable generic medications to the Togolese population and neighboring markets. Meanwhile, NutriSource, in collaboration with Fertistream, an international firm from Dubai, seeks to produce fertilizers tailored to African soil conditions. The plant has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons and a storage capacity of 60,000 tons, aiming to lower logistics costs and address the specific requirements of Togolese soils with adaptable formulas and smaller production batches.
‘This marks our inaugural investment in Africa, and we chose Togo because we believe in the country’s potential and that of the sub-region,’ stated Imane Belhiti, CEO of Fertistream. Additional inaugurations are anticipated at the PIA as part of the independence celebrations.
