Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has extended the deadline for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement to August 12, 2025, following public concerns about the re-activation of the digital application process.
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi announced the extension in a statement, citing the importance of public feedback in shaping police policies. The extension aims to allow for enhancements and refinements to the application process, ensuring a fair and convenient experience for all citizens.

According to Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is working to simplify and improve both physical and online application options. This includes enhancing verification mechanisms and streamlining procedures to minimize delays and inconveniences.
