President Bola Tinubu is currently addressing a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja as part of Nigeria’s 26th Democracy Day celebrations.
Members of the National Assembly are assembled at the National Assembly complex for the event. A Democracy Day lecture is also scheduled for later today, featuring speeches from key political figures on pressing issues facing Nigeria.
Notable dignitaries in attendance include Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, and other members of the Cabinet.
Also present are former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Ken Nnamani, former Governors Aminu Masari and Anyim Pius Anyim (who also served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation), and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, among other distinguished guests.
