The Rimon Hajjar Entreprises group, which has been operating in Togo since 2019 at the Port of Lomé, is focused on expanding its wheat processing capabilities. Rimon Hajjar, the director, shared this vision during a recent meeting with Richard Kangbeni, the Togolese Minister of Maritime Economy.
The company, based in Burkina Faso and currently managing a grain terminal with a capacity of 12,500 tonnes at the Port of Lomé, intends to construct eight additional silos, which will increase its total capacity to 18,000 tonnes. Although the financial details of this investment have not been revealed, it is expected to enable the company to manage a monthly volume of 35,000 tonnes of bulk wheat.
This terminal expansion initiative, as stated by Rimon Hajjar, aims to address the rising demand for wheat flour in the sub-region. Consequently, the enhancement of storage and processing capabilities necessitates the activation of port infrastructure for wheat transportation.
This development is expected to bolster the port of Lomé’s role within the trade logistics framework. The Minister of Maritime Economy has indeed reiterated the government’s commitment to facilitating this investment.
It is important to mention that Rimon Hajjar Entreprises, a company governed by Burkinabe law, is active in three primary sectors: bakery, agri-food, and hydrocarbons.
