In Togo, the Ministry of Commerce, Crafts, and Local Consumption is focused on enhancing the capabilities of entrepreneurs in the e-commerce sector. Under the leadership of Kayi Mivedor-Sambiani, the ministry launched a three-day training workshop on February 25 for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small industries (SMIs) to delve into the practical elements of e-commerce.
Approximately thirty business leaders are participating in this initiative aimed at bolstering their expertise in online sales, digital payment systems, and logistics. The goal is to equip them with effective strategies to enhance their visibility on e-commerce platforms and boost their competitive edge.
“Over the course of these three days, we will address both the regulatory and technical dimensions of e-commerce. Additionally, we will emphasize communication and marketing strategies that are crucial for success in the online marketplace. We will also highlight the opportunities presented by the AfCFTA for Togolese entrepreneurs,” stated Harold Kpodar, the e-commerce consultant overseeing the training.
Comlan Yakpey, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Commerce, who represented the Minister, underscored the importance of entrepreneurs mastering online commerce tools to fully leverage the benefits of digital technology and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
