The Personal Data Protection Authority Officially Launched its Digital Operations.

A few months following its operational launch, the Personal Data Protection Authority (IPDCP) is advancing its initiatives. The institution officially commenced its activities on Friday, March 28, in Lomé, by initiating an awareness campaign.

The event gathered representatives from various governmental institutions, agencies, and the media, providing a platform to introduce the authority, its objectives, and its strategic action plan.

“In an era of digital transformation, the IPDCP plays a crucial role in fostering a secure digital environment where citizens, businesses, and institutions can engage with confidence,” stated Bédiani Béléi, the president of the Authority. He emphasized that the organization will work to ensure that information and communication technologies do not endanger individual freedoms and privacy.

A significant public awareness campaign is set to launch on April 1st, aimed at enhancing citizens’ understanding of their rights and the measures in place to safeguard their data from misuse.
