Tinubu Departs Japan for Brazil via Los Angeles 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departed Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday for Brazil, where he is scheduled to begin a state visit on August 24.

According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President will make a brief stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brasilia, the Brazilian capital.

President Tinubu embarked on his two-nation visit on August 15 when he left Abuja, making a stopover in Dubai, UAE, before arriving in Yokohama on August 18.

During his stay in Japan, the President attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) on August 20. He also held a series of bilateral meetings with global leaders and concluded his engagements with a meeting with Nigerians in the diaspora on Thursday night.

The state visit to Brazil is expected to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
