On Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Lomé, the National Volunteer Agency (ANVT) honored the winners of its “Best Volunteer and Female Volunteer of the Year 2024” competition.
This event, now in its ninth edition, celebrates the dedication of young volunteers in critical sectors such as health, education, and the environment.
A total of 11 volunteers received awards across two categories. In the “Best Female Volunteer” category, Ms. Donsi Hounsinou, a senior laboratory technician, secured first place, earning a motorbike and a computer. The other three finalists were each awarded a motorbike.
In the “Best Volunteer” category, Mr. Souleymane Sade, an anesthesia and resuscitation technician, received the top prize of one million FCFA. Additional winners were recognized based on merit, with total prizes amounting to 3.1 million FCFA.
During the ceremony, Mr. Yawotse Vovor, representing the Ministry of Grassroots Development, commended the volunteers for their commitment, emphasizing their vital role in fostering social cohesion and community development.

Mr. Omar Agbangba, Director General of ANVT, stated that these awards serve to highlight the tangible contributions of volunteers and to inspire a renewed commitment to the common good.
