Togo and Mali Strengthen Cooperation in Telecommunications Regulation

The Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARCEP Togo) recently hosted a delegation from the Malian Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies, and Postal Services (AMRTP) to share expertise in telecommunications service quality governance.

The discussions in Lomé centered on the Quality Management System (QMS) implemented by ARCEP Togo, which received certification in September 2023 and underwent an audit in September 2024 .

Led by Executive Secretary Abdoulaye Coulibaly, the Malian delegation learned about ARCEP Togo’s best practices in planning, management, and continuous improvement of internal processes, aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency.

The two regulatory bodies expressed their commitment to expanding the existing bilateral agreement between Mali and Togo to ensure its effective implementation. This expansion aims to improve mobility between the two countries and support sub-regional integration through technical cooperation and mutual strengthening of institutional capacities.

Mali’s initiative to learn from Togo’s experiences reflects a broader trend among neighboring countries, highlighting the growing recognition of Togo’s advancements in telecommunications market governance and management.
