The partnership between Togo and Vietnam celebrated its 50th anniversary on February 8, 2025. Recently, the two nations took time to reflect on their longstanding friendship and explore additional ways to strengthen their collaboration.
According to the Togolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the bilateral relationship is described as “fruitful,” highlighting a shared understanding of significant global matters and mutual support in various international organizations.

Throughout the last five decades, both countries have successfully implemented numerous initiatives in agriculture, economy, trade, investment, culture, education, scientific research, and programs aimed at enhancing the connections between their peoples.
In the years ahead, Togo and Vietnam aim to reinforce their partnership through solidarity, political dialogue, and mediation, while fostering mutual respect and understanding. Last month, the two nations signed a new memorandum of understanding to enhance their cooperation in vital sectors such as agriculture, trade, investment, and telecommunications. The MoU was signed by Togolese Foreign Affairs Minister, Robert Dussey, during his visit to the Asian country.
